Anna and Kian were the proud new parents of two adorable twin girls. They had only been born a few hours ago, butfamily were allowed into the ward to visit. Kian's family lived too far away to visit straight away, so the only visitors coming through the doors were Anna's parents and brother. Anna smiled weakly at them, to exhausted to move much, but clearly delighted at the twoadorable bundles in the crib next to her bed. Kian got up to greet the guests, and noticedthat Anna's brother Liamwas acting slightly off. Not letting it botherhim, Kianhelped Anna sit up, and introduced the twins to their Grandparents and Uncle. "Ooooh aren't they just so sweet!" gasped Anna's mother, as she gave the nearest twin a little tickle. The baby cooed and laughed, prompting her Grandma to tickle her again. Anna's father was looked very pleased with his daughter, and congratulatedher and Kian. "I am so proud of you darling!" he said ruffling his daughters hair. Anna looked pleased as her father complemented thetwins, gushing about how sweet and adorable they were.Liam was the only one that hadn't said anything yet. He looked veryuncomfortable and quite upset."Liam?" Anna said "are you alright?" concern showing in her voice. "I...yeah....yeah I'm OK." he stammered looking abit flustered. At questioning looks from his parents, hesuddenly blurted out 'I have something to tell you'. He sat down, and silence spread oer the room as everyone realised this was something important. "I'm so sorry" he started, looking at his mother, and avoiding everyone elses eyes. "What ever is thematter Liam?!" asked his mother. "You all seem to love these babies so much!" he cried "they seem to make you so happy!....I'm sorry" he looked down and miserable. Confusion was evident on everyone's faces as they regardedhim. "Come on son" his Father said, "Spit it out, what is it thatsbothering you? Of course the babies make us happy! Shouldn't they?!" Liam looked up. "Well....erm....ok...I'll just tell you....I dont think........I don't thinkyou will have any more grandchildren..........I.......I..........well.......you see...........I think..........well............erm.........I'm gay......I've been gay dating for a few months,Im sorry - I want to give you grandchildren like Anna has and make you that happy! But I cant - Ive failed you." There was a moment of silence as Liam finished speaking. His Mother got up, walked over to her son and gave him a big hug. Liam looked surprised and pleased. "Oh honey" she said "I'm so proud of you! Dont worry! that was very brave of you to tell us that! We don't mind at all that you wont give us grandchildren! We only want you to be happy!". She hugged him again and his Father said something to the same effect. "Really?!" smiled Liam "you're...you're not mad at me?!". "Of course not!" beamed his sister "come here bro - i haven't hugged you yet!" he went over to her, was given a big hug, and from this new viewpoint he peered into the crib containing the twins. Theyre really sweet actually! He laughed as he gavethe twins a tickleand they waved their chubby little hands at him.
