I was always sceptical about online dating services until one of my work colleagues convinced me it was a good idea. I had been without a girlfriend for nearly a year and he convinced me I had nothing to lose.

So I signed up on the website, posted a couple of pictures and filled in all the spiel that you have to, always thinking I would never get any replies, and waited to see what happened.

To my shock, I soon began to receive some replies from potential dates! I could not believe that all these beautiful women were sending me messages on a dating site. Sure enough there was the usual spam replies but among those there were some genuine replies.

So I sent a few replies back to the messages I had received and began to get to them a bit better using the messaging service. Then I took the plunge and asked one of them if they wanted to meet up- well that is what dating services like these are for. To my delight the lady in question agreed to meet at a local bar for a drink.

When she arrived she looked even more beautiful than she appeared in the pictures she had posted on the website. To my surprise she gave me a cuddle and a peck on the cheek when I greeted her. So we had a couple of drinks and chatted a lot. We discussed our lives, our hobbies, our families, etc, and by the end of the evening we knew each other pretty well. I asked her if we could meet again the following week and to my great delight she agreed and she said yes. She gave me another cuddle and kiss on leaving- I thought to myself that this was a pretty amazing woman and for the first time in a long time I may have a girlfriend.

When I went to work the next day my colleagues knew something had happened, as I had a massive grin on my face the entire day. They kept badgering me to find out why I was so happy and eventually I relented and told them that I had met this beautiful woman through the website that they had suggested. I told them how she had given me a kiss and a cuddle when we met and yes I did think she definitely had the potential to be my next girlfriend.
